We are a Catholic community for people in their 20s and 30s seeking friendship, deeper discipleship, and opportunities to serve. We gather weekly for prayer, theology, games, or service.
We are the new iteration of an older collapsed group that was called "Pursuit". Pursuit was started by some college students on a mission for one of their classes at Notre Dame. They founded a group that spanned across a few parishes in Coweta and Fayette counties of Georgia. They had elevated access to bulletins and advertisement from their placement from Notre Dame, and they used it well cultivating some events with about 100 people in attendance. This was huge because I had not personally seen any event like that, especially here in our region. Most Catholic activities are on the north side of Atlanta, and there truely was a need for an organization in our area. After the semester ended and the students went home to South Bend, IL, the group shut down having nobody to run it.
I saw this as a massive void in our community, something that needed to be restored. I took it upon myself to design a rebrand and instill a new dedication to this cause. Due to the fact that there really were no groups down here, I found the name "Southside Catholics" very fitting. I designed a structure that all of our events should follow, including a set of 3 pillars we lean on: Faith formation, Fellowship, and Service. All of our activities rely on at least 1 of those three pillars.
In March of 2025 we launched, and it has been a great joy ever since! All of us have grown in friendship and love of the Lord. It has been such a blessing to be able to create a space for young Catholics to gather and have intimate friendships that are built to last, because they were built on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ.

Every Week our meeting is based on one of our 3 pillars: Faith Formation, Fellowship, and Service. For faith formation we may have theological discussions, or watch and talk about faith based content. In the past we have had the vocations director from the archdiocese of Atlanta come, we have visited relics, and we have volunteered at non-profits. We have also had more lowkey events such as game nights and restaurant outings.
